He is a former competitive swimmer, cyclist, and an age group winner at the Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon. Currently he lives in Belgium where he has immersed himself in the local cycling culture.

In that time I was using FoxPro and Delphi.That period ended in 2001 when I started using Java and J2EE stack. After graduating summa cum laude in Economics, Mark forged a successful career in the City. He distinguished himself as a gifted trader and turnaround manager, inspiring his teams to produce record revenues whilst topping client ranking tables. As Global Head of FX trading, he recognised early on the importance of the internet, and successfully positioned his business to be at the forefront of this technology.Mark has always had a passion for sport, health and wellness and the impact of technology in revolutionizing businesses. In 2002, he took the decision to leave the City, re-train in IT and gain entrepreneurial experience. He has focussed his relentless drive and energy to build Trainsmart Interactive, the world’s first adaptive, intelligent online training application.

Alfred DietelNon-Executive Director
Alfred Dietel has over 15 years’ experience as an entrepreneur and technology investor. He worked with Trainsmart since 2006 and joined the team in 2009. He is now an Non-Executive Director and Investor. Alfred is a Principal at Pemberton Capital Advisors, a private equity firm for growth and turnaround opportunities, where he covers the Telecom sector. Prior to that, Alfred worked for Imperial Innovations from 2005 to 2009, where he managed all ICT, Environmental and Medtech investments and he ran the Carbon Trust Incubator scheme. He represented Imperial Innovations on the boards of a number of portfolio companies and was pivotal in the listing of Imperial Innovations’ venture fund on AiM, raising a total of £70 million. From 1999 to 2002, Alfred was Deputy CEO of Cell Control Biomedical Laboratories AG, a start up biotech firm, focused on the development of diagnostic tools for cancer treatments. Prior to that, while a Director at Siemens AG, Alfred played a key role in acquiring and merging US$1.2 billion of investments in telecom/data communication firms in the US into Unisphere Solutions, creating the platform for Siemens’ dual-listing on the NYSE. Alfred graduated from Technical University of Munich (MSc in Computer Science and Theoretical Medicine, 1997), Manchester Business School and University of Chicago Booth School of Business (MBA, 2004). Symon Drake-Brockman has over 25 years’ experience in the Financial Services industry including senior executive positions at RBS (CEO of Global Banking & Markets for the Americas, Global Head of Debt Markets), ING Barings (Global Head of Debt Products) and JPMorgan.He was appointed CEO of Global Banking and Markets for the Americas in December 2007, where he successfully led the integration of ABN Amro wholesale banking activities in the Americas and Sempra Energy. During 2008 he restructured and refocused the Global Banking and Markets division in the Americas. This restructuring resulted the Global Banking and Markets division in the Americas generating record revenues in 2009.Symon joined RBS in 2001. From 2001 to 2005 he was Head of Capital Markets in Europe and Asia. In 2005 he became Global Head of Debt Markets, and was responsible for trading, sales and research for Rates and Credit Markets, and all origination activities across Leverage Finance, Loan Markets, Project Finance Real Estate Finance and Capital Markets. During this period RBS Debt Markets grew to be the # 1 Underwriter in syndicated loans in Europe, #1 in Corporate Debt underwriting and # 5 in Global debt underwriting.

Pam started her career at HSBC, where she gained 11 years’ experience in various retail banking, project management and change management roles. Particular focus was on the online space where she worked on the launch and development of internet banking, TV banking, online sharedealing and website management. Being a fitness enthusiast, she then decided to combine her project management skills with health and fitness, aspiring to work with lycra-clad Olympians and fitness fans at Trainsmart.
