Nothing gives you more satisfaction than seeing thousands of competitors cross the finish line with a huge smile on their face. However, organising events is tough. Events are expensive and it’s a constant battle to break even, making enough money from one event to stage the next one. Making sure our competitors are fit and healthy is critically important. Unfortunately, we don’t have the resources to provide training in-house and we sub it out to one of our training partners.
Trainsmart enables us to deliver quality coaching to every single one of our entrants. Our training partner also uses the platform to manage 1-to-1 clients and this has enabled them to train even more of our entrants.
One of our main CSR goals is to help people lead more healthy lives through participating in sport and events. We're using the Trainsmart platform to coach and motivate our participants after the event has finished.
This is one of those rare ‘win-win’ situations – we have a new source of income; our partners have more business, all our athletes receive excellent training and we deliver on our legacy ambitions.
Owen started his career working in the events team for a large, UK charity. After building his contacts network and managing the logistics for numerous events, he decided to take the plunge and organise his own races. Owen now hosts over ten events each year, throughout the UK.
