  • To quit smoking
  • To lower my blood pressure

In Peter's Words

I used to play sport when I was younger but stopped in my early-30’s. I didn't think I was in bad shape until I had my annual health check up – it was a complete shocker. I'm clinically obese, have high blood pressure, high cholesterol and the doctor said I’m a heart attack waiting to happen. It scared the life out of me. I’ve joined a gym, started working with a nutritionist and seeing a personal trainer twice a week. I'm the type of person that needs constant encouragement and motivation, so I log my activity on Trainsmart so my trainer can keep an eye on me and make sure I do it.

Peter works as a manager in an accountancy firm and hasn’t exercised for over 10 years. He’s picked up a lot of bad habits along the way - smoking 10 cigarettes a day, eating junk food and having a couple of pints on the way home from work. His father died from a heart attack when he was only 56. Peter is determined to improve his lifestyle and live to see his 2 teenage children grow up.
